Nick Badis, LMFT, CHT

Licensed Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist

I work with individuals seeking clarity, self-leadership, and a deeper understanding of their inner world. Many of the people I work with are capable and driven, yet find themselves repeating patterns they don’t fully understand — reactions that persist despite insight, discipline, or effort. My role is to help you understand the system beneath those patterns, so change arises naturally from awareness rather than force.

Background & Formation

My path into psychotherapy was shaped long before my formal clinical training. I served as an Army airborne infantryman and spent years immersed in martial arts and professional fighting, environments that demanded discipline, resilience, and the ability to function under pressure. Injury and life transition later dismantled the identity I had built around strength and performance, forcing a deeper confrontation with the mind and the patterns beneath it. That shift led me to formal training in psychotherapy and fundamentally changed how I understand resilience, healing, and identity.

Outside of Clinical Work

Outside of clinical work, I continue to train in martial arts, spend time in nature and in the ocean surfing, and maintain the practices that keep me grounded.

These disciplines are not separate from my clinical work. They continue to refine my understanding of awareness, regulation, and the capacity to remain present and Self-led, not only in moments of stress, but in the everyday moments that make up a meaningful life.

HOW MY APPROACH UNFOLDS

I work especially well with individuals who are willing to engage honestly with themselves. This includes:

1

Veterans Navigating Identity & Transition

Support in redefining identity, purpose, and stability after high-intensity environments.

2

Athletes & High Performers

Tools to regulate pressure, sharpen focus, and operate from clarity rather than force.

3

Professionals Under Responsibility

Space to examine patterns beneath burnout, control, or chronic stress.

4

When Current Patterns No Longer Work

Guidance in recognizing outdated survival strategies and building sustainable internal leadership.

If This Resonates

There are two primary ways to work with me: licensed psychotherapy (LMFT) and hypnotherapy. Each offers a different structure for engaging the work, depending on your needs.

NEXT STEP

You don’t need to be certain or fully clear to begin.

A consultation is simply a conversation to clarify what’s bringing you here and determine whether this work feels aligned.
